I do not profess to be an excellent marketer, my strength is in one-on-one sales.
Over the years I have seen many salespeople "shoot themselves in the foot" with poor language skills. Often they infer the wrong things or speak in a bland way that does not engage the prospect.
A classic example is "I don't want you to think anything will go wrong with our product, hardly anything ever goes wrong with these". What do you think will be in the prospect's mind after hearing this ? Exactly, what sort of things go wrong. AND , that is not where you want a prospect's mind to be.
